What Information We Collect

1. Profile Information: When you create a profile, we collect:

• Name
• Age
• Gender
• Gender preference for matching
• Age preference for matching
• A short description about yourself
• If supplied, interests and language exchange goals
• Your profile picture
  This picture gets deleted 10 minutes after you leave the app (it only persists for the matching-session)

2. Location Data: We collect your location information to help match you with nearby users.
3. IP Address: We store your IP address for security purposes.
4. Usage Data: We keep track of users you've seen and liked.

How Long We Keep Your Data

After 10 minutes of inactivity (meaning you leaving the app completely), your profile data and profile picture are deleted automatically. We only keep some historic data to analyze how the app is used and to improve it. The data we keep for longer is:

• Name
• Age
• Gender
• Gender preference
• Age preference
• Description
• If supplied, interests and language exchange goals
• Approximate location (city, town, or region - not precise coordinates)
• IP address (ONLY if you've been reported by another user)

Delete Your Data

If you'd also like to delete your historic data (on top of the profile data and profile picture that is automatically deleted after 10 minutes of inactivity), you can use the Delete-Historic-Data-Button in the Privacy-Section of the App. This will permanently remove all the data associated with your device from our systems. If the button is greyed out, it means we haven't associated any data with your device.

Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. This helps us improve our service and user experience.

What Google Analytics collects:

• Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
• How you arrived at our site (referrer)
• Your device type, browser, and operating system
• Approximate location (country/region level, derived from IP address)
• General interaction patterns (clicks, scrolling)

Your IP address is anonymized before being stored. We do not use Google Analytics to collect personally identifiable information.

localStorage:

We use your browser's localStorage to store your preferences (such as language settings and cookie consent) and session information locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser unless explicitly sent to our servers as part of your profile.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

Advertising and Meta Pixel

We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on our event pages to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.

What the Meta Pixel collects:

• Page views on our event pages
• Clicks on app store download links
• Your device type, browser, and approximate location

This data is used by Meta to:

• Show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram
• Help us reach people similar to those interested in our app

You can opt out of Meta's advertising tracking through your Facebook Ad Settings.

Mobile App Attribution (AppsFlyer)

We use AppsFlyer in our mobile app to understand how users discover and install our app, and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

What AppsFlyer collects:

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS if permitted)
• App install and registration events
• IP address (used for approximate location)
• Device type, operating system, and app version

This data helps us understand which marketing channels bring users to our app. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

How We Use Your Information

1. Matching: We use your preferences and location to find potential matches.
2. Improving Our Service: We analyze usage data to improve the app's functionality.

1. You can edit or delete your profile information at any time.
